On October 30, Confirel opened its doors to around thirty new Cambodian entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mainly active in the processing and manufacturing of food products. This professional visit was organized by the Khmer Enterprise association.

The participants came from various sectors—food processing, restaurant services, food consulting, distribution, but also fruit horticulture in the provinces of Kampot, Battambang, Bantheay Mean Chey, Siem Reap, and Kampong Cham—to exchange about best entrepreneurial practices.

Saket Sophaseila, executive director representing Confirel’s founder and president, Dr. Hay Ly Eang, welcomed the group by showing them a corporate film retracing the company’s history. He recalled Dr. Hay’s long-term vision: to promote ancestral products to improve the livelihoods of rural farmers, by supporting palm sugar (Thnot), Kampot pepper, and the development of prahok—until now not widely processed.

During this one-hour meeting at the Confirel showroom in Chom Chao, the entrepreneurs expressed their desire to gain experience and advice in order to manage their new ventures smoothly. Saket Sophaseila stressed the importance of food safety, a key issue for consumers, and the necessity of innovating without copying others’ ideas, "to ensure the sustainability of their business."
